The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) is an It is an apex body in India under the Ministry of Ayush for the formulation, coordination, development, and promotion of research on scientific lines in Ayurveda and Sowa-Rigpa systems of medicine. The origin of the council dates back to the year 1962 when the erstwhile Central Council for Ayurvedic Research was established as an Advisory body. Since then it is engaged in a wide range of activities in the domains of Ayurveda research including clinical research, medicinal plant research, pharmacological research, drug standardization, quality control, and quality assurance, pharmacological research, development of scientific tools and methods in Ayurveda, research-oriented public health care services, pharmaco-epidemiology studies, revival and retrieval of ancient medical documents and more. The activities are carried out through the efficient network of 30 institutes across the country and also through collaborative studies with various academic and research institutes, universities, and hospitals in India and abroad.
Journal of Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (JRAS) is a peer-reviewed, open access, UGC-CARE listed official publication of Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), New Delhi. The Journal is published quarterly and is available in both print and online forms. It is a multidisciplinary platform for publication of research in Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Sidhha, Homeopathy fields including interdisciplinary health sciences. JRAS is primarily devoted to research in Ayurveda, the Indian traditional health care system. The journal is being published online since 2016 and has constantly contributed through publishing evidence based research works on traditional Indian system of medicine. The thrust area for publication includes safety and efficacy studies, fundamental research, health promotion and preventive medicine, medico-social aspects including medical anthropology, epidemiological studies, health-related demography, development of methodologies of clinical researches, pharmacovigilance and pharmaco-epidemiology, integrative medicine, research protocols, meta-analytical studies, technical reports of projects, book review and insightful literature reviews.

Digital Archiving
Wolters Kluwer Medknow provides for long-term digital preservation through two primary partnerships, Portico and CLOCKSS.
Portico is a leading digital preservation service worldwide. The content is preserved as an archival version and is not publically accessible via Portico, but is provided when required under specific conditions, such as discontinuation of the collection or catastrophic failure of the website.
CLOCKSS will enable any library to maintain their own archive of content from Wolters Kluwer Medknow and other publishers, with minimal technical effort and using cheaply available hardware.
Ahead of Print policy
Articles published online under the Ahead of Print model are considered published and can be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. Wolters Kluwer Medknow has a policy that changes will not be made after publication of an article without following accepted procedures for making corrections to the scientific record.
Advertisements
While advertisements are crucial to this journal to be able to keep all content free for everyone, ethical considerations are in place to ensure the integrity of the journal and its content:
- "Pop-up" and "banner" ads appear on a random, rotating basis. The advertiser has no control or input over the pages where their ads appear.
- The Editorial Board has full and final approval over the content of all advertisements.
